A Cast of Thousands

Well Quite a few anyway!

Every Great Production requires a Cast and Crew to make it work

Rallyist Cartoons are no exception...

The Characters

"The Creation of Rallyist Characters has been integral to the development of Rallyist. The Cars on the whole are quite simple, and comes down mainly of the drawing style and a good engineering back ground. The Characters are much harder. Once you've pictured the look, you have to work on the style and they haven't to look like any other cartoon characters and there are a lot of other Cartoon Characters out there. Well it is supposed to be Rallyist-Art after all.

What ever the end result  the artwork still has to fit in with the cars, the storyline  and the setting.

It took a while, but I got there!"

                                                                                                                                                                             PME

Key to getting people to relate to my cartoons has rested on the development good Characters, based in my case on characters I came across in my days as a Rally Marshal and my days racing FF1600's and Prod-Saloons and Folk I see and meet at events, My years in Engineering  and then capturing those characteristics in cartoon form..

Capturing the Character

Of course not every cartoon or Cartoon character is going to fit into a specific Box. Likewise some styles are guided by the job in hand and the message.

From the Rallyist Book Characters finding their way into the 2014 Wales Rally GB Safety Campaign to being used to convey Information, through to Visual Management Posters and Presentations in the Aerospace Industry.

Note the Diagram Style works a treat on the Shop Floor

Other Applications

There are times when in the creation of a Cartoon  I may require something a little bit different, to give that bit extra to tell the story.

A Dog with a Farmer, a Gold Fish with a Housewife in shock. Then again that extra presents may also form the center piece of the cartoon.

And On Occasion

Film & TV Characters

I love Films, pure and simple. Therefore I can, on occasion, be found doodling away the odd Film and TV Character.

"Well, It would be rude not too!"
